Hockey Night in Brantford – The Encore Game

 

Brantford, Ontario, July 31, 2019 – Brantford-Brant’s premier celebration of everything hockey, Hockey Night in Brantford, will make a return this summer with an Encore Game delivering high-level hockey action, family-friendly entertainment and community giving on Wednesday, August 14th, at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.

“Over the years Hockey Night in Brantford has made major investments in our community. It has served as a catalyst for community giving, a celebration of our rich hockey heritage, and a venue for showcasing and bringing together beloved local stars and the next generation of talent set to build on our community’s story of athletic excellence,” said MP McColeman. “Once again we’ve put together a roster and a program that will ensure another fun and entertaining event.”

NHL’ers Adam Henrique, Zac Dalpe, Brandon Montour and Jacob Dotchin will return this year alongside Jay Wells who enjoyed 18 successful years playing in the NHL as well a renewed cast of elite men and women players.

HNIB organizers have been hard at work to make August 14th another memorable evening of entertainment. Game-day activities will include a family skate from 5 to 6 pm for all game day ticket holders, a historical display of Zamboni’s, a “Shoot to Win” bike contest put on by the Expositor and a post-game autograph session. The Slap Stick Hockey Team Entertainers lead by team Captain “Doug the Great” Hunt , featuring Wally “Power Play” Warwick, Randy “Ice Ice” Papple, Brent “Pull the Goalie” Goodnough, Marty “the Mediocre” Chapple, Robb ”The Enforcer” Nagy, Tammy ”The Ref” Hunt, Barry “McClean-Up” O’Neal, and the Prince and Princess of Hockey Night in Brantford, will also be in the arena amusing attendees of all ages.

Kicking off the event on Tuesday, August 13th, at the Brantford Golf & Country Club, will be a silent and live auction featuring sports memorabilia, unique dining experiences, local gifts and certificates, concert tickets and creative artwork.

All proceeds from the game and the auction will be going to the Crossing All Bridges Connections Campaign to support their initiative to secure a permanent home of their own,

allowing individuals living with varying developmental disabilities to enjoy a love of life, a love of learning and lifelong friendships in an inclusive and welcoming community.

Game-day tickets are on sale now at Crossing All Bridges Learning Centre, MP Phil McColeman’s Office, Best Western – Brantford Hotel and Conference Centre and GameTime, at a family friendly price of $10, and $5 for seniors and children. Raffle tickets also remain on sale, offering lucky fans a chance to win two tickets anywhere that Air Canada flies, two tickets anywhere that WestJet flies, or two Raptors tickets with an overnight stay in Toronto.
